Minnesota remixes Biggie Smalls, Dirty Projectors, and The XX

Christian Bauhofer aka DJ Minnesota is someone I started following a couple months ago when he released this dubstep/glitch-hop version of everyone’s indie favorite from last year, Dirty Projectors “Stillness is the Move.” It’s a beautiful rendition that goes strong for seven minutes.

I voted for Minnesota in SubSynthesis’ competition for best remix of Nit Grit’s Babylon (he placed third), and one listen will make you think people will soon start paying big money to see him spin.

Now he’s getting internet love for some of his most recent mixes, Biggie’s Juicy and a rework of The XX’s Intro. Juicy might be the most remixed hiphop song of all time so I’m getting a little B.I.G. fatigue, but this one is tops. The drop around the 2:20 mark is awesome.

Then when he hit 4000 fans on his facebook, he dropped a sweet melodic dubstep beat to Sander Van Doorn’s “XX Booty,” and the result is excellent bass music.
