“Why Even Try” is the sick Theophilus London joint from his upcoming East Coast hiphop album featuring the lovely, talented, and Tyler the Creator fighting Sara Quin from Tegan and Sara. The 23 year old Trinidad native’s debut full-length album, Timez Are Weird These Days, is to be released on July 19 by Warner Brothers. Check the fake TMZ video for the song:
London is leading quite the life right now. In an interview with the New York Times last week, the rapper stated he became good friends with Nathan Brown and Paz de la Huerta, the stars of the trippiest movie in years, Enter the Void. They would all hit the clubs after taking psychedelics. This was all while London was in the recording process and scripting his videos so I can’t wait to see how the rest of those turn out. But don’t think he’s satisfied with his recent success.
I still have a lot to do. Just because 50,000 people on the Internet know me, I’m not patting myself on the back at the end of the night. I want to make, like, five albums. But I also want to curate museums. I want to change the color of Starbucks from green to red. Whose job was it to say, this is going to be green? I want that to be my job.
