Chiddy Bang Attempts Guinness Record for Longest Freestyle Today

Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege, the MC of Chiddy Bang, will try to break the Guinness Record for longest freestyle today during MTV’s first annual O Awards. It’ll be streaming here all day. He’ll have to freestyle for NINE FREAKING HOURS to beat the current champion, Indianapolis rapper M-Eighty. Maybe even more impressive is Xaphoon Jones will be spinning for 9 hours and 20 minutes.

But if 9 hours of Chiddy isn’t good news enough, here’s some more. Chiddy and Xaphoon will drop a new mixtape today as well at the same time, titled Peanut Butter and Swelly. Here’s what Chiddy told MTV News:

What I’m excited to do besides performing is that we’re gonna use it as a platform to launch some new music. We haven’t released music collectively, for a collective project, in a very long time. And so we just thought, what is the highest level that we can sort of reach for and have that coincide with releasing new music? Well, the highest level is trying to break a world record. Why not bring out a new mixtape when we break the world record?

Siiiick! We’ll have the mixtape here for you when it’s released later tonight.
