I’m not sure why Neon Hitch (real name) isn’t superfamous yet, but she’s got a Britney Spears-esque voice and has led an incredibly interesting life so far. She was born to a family of nomadic, street peforming gypsies, therefore she never went to school, and as a teen performed in the circus as a trapeze artist, fire swinger and stilt walker. She left home at sixteen to live in India for awhile before settling in London for her music career, eventually opening for 50 cent. Now she makes bomb music. Here’s my fav from Neon, where she sings a unique cover of Two Door Cinema Club “What You Know” and Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed”:

Hitch is currently working on her debut album, Beg, Borrow and Steal and one of the singles is “Silly Girl”, which now gets an upgrade thanks to D.C. remixer Brenton Duvall. We’ve been following Brenton since his Gambino/Javelin and Biggie/Semisonic mashes. He takes some stems from both Neon and Wiz Khalifa’s “No Sleep” off Cabin Fever and creates a winning recipe.
