The Flaming Lips Win Record Store Day. Stream Collabos Feat. Kesha, Chris Martin, Bon Iver, More

Get The Flaming Lips, Bon Iver, Edward Sharpe, Jim Jones of My Morning Jacket, Nick Cave, Erykah Badu, Tame Impala, Neon Indian, and friendzoned Biz Markie together and you have Now That’s What I Call Hipster Music Vol 1. Add in Kesha (I’m not including the $ because I am an adult), Coldplay, and Yoko Ono and you have the rest of the world’s attention.

The band released the double LP The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends in vinyl form in a 10,000 unit run on April 21, 2012, as part of Record Store Day. SPIN Magazine called the album “globetrotters on Gilligan’s Acid Island” and there’s no way I’m topping that great quote.
