It’s been 5 years since The xx’s last album “Coexist” and 8 years since their electric self-titled debut. The first two albums were moody dream pop with gorgeous instrumentation and low bass.
Now the atmospheric English duo have fine-tuned their skills and added a more energetic direction and for the first time, samples, to create their new album “I See You” that dropped today. You will certainly tell the difference between this set and the previous two. After one full spin, I can tell you that this will certainly reward multiple listens.
Standout tracks: “On Hold” (which made our 100 Best Songs of 2016), “I Dare You”, “Replica”, “Dangerous”
