This past Saturday marked the first annual Shroomstock Craft Beer and Music Festival in Orlando, Florida. The event was put on by local Orlando Mellow Mushroom locations and was sponsored by craft breweries such as OBP, Dogfish Head, Abita, and the Central Florida Homebrewers Club.
Guests were invited to come sample delicious craft beers, partake in fresh pizza from the Mellow Mushroom Bake Bus, and enjoy live music. The Central Florida Homebrewers Club were onsite to impart theire knowledge of home brewery and handout free samples of their work. One of the hi-lights of the evening was the Magnum Pizza Challenge, where contestents competed to see who was able to finish off the gargantuan “Magnum Pizza” the fastest in hopes of winning free pizza for a year.
The event featured local Florida bands Casey Brents, Luna Bellum, and The Hip Abduction. The night was closed out by Spiritual Rez, a reggae/funk band from Boston.
We at Too Good For Radio have been referring to this as the “first annual” Shroomstock in hopes that this will continue to be a yearly Orlando tradition. We believe the event showed an impressive turnout and a huge congratulations are in order to the Mellow Mushroom staff and sponsors for a well coordinated and executed event. We had a great time!
If you missed the event, make sure to check out our Shroomstock 2012 Mixtape for a sampling of the bands that performed.
